Renacer Kimono

The Renacer Kimono, by Mariana Camusso (@mariana_camusso), is a crochet design that invites you to enjoy the journey. Mariana created it for makers who are looking for more than a finished piece—they want an experience, as the garment grows in your hands, stitch by stitch.

Mariana is the founder of Escuela de Crochet Mariana Camusso, a space where making with your hands is lived in community: in-person and online classes, kits, and patterns for all levels—from beginners to advanced makers—at every age. At HUANACO, we’re very happy that—within that universe—Mariana also offers a selection of our yarns for her community of students and other makers.

One design, two seasons

Mariana suggested revisiting her original design in Merino de la Patagonia, and taking it one step further: showing something we truly love at HUANACO—the same garment in a summer and a winter version:

  • The summer version, made in Merino de la Patagonia Superfine Fingering, creates an airy garment with beautiful drape and movement.
  • The winter version, made in Merino de la Patagonia DK, adds body, warmth, and presence—without losing that comfortable feel that merino brings, the kind you’ll want to wear all day.

We love seeing how a design comes to life through different yarns and seasons, and how each version tells a different story… with the same structure at its core.

Sevilla Teje

Both kimonos traveled with us to Sevilla Teje, and we got to see the summer version walk the festival runway, worn by Gise (@benditapausa_). One of those moments you keep close: when a piece from the rack comes alive and shows its movement.

The color: Camino del Chaco

Camino del Chaco is a colorway that comes back again and again: it complements palettes and adds warmth without overpowering them.

In this case, the dye comes from vinal, a native tree from the Gran Chaco region (Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia), known for its strong resistance to drought and its distinctive thorns. Beyond the value of its wood and the fruit that feeds local wildlife, it also has traditional uses… and it gives us beautiful color, like this one.
