Estancia Los Pozos: the origin of our first capsule of skeins by flock

Silvina and Eduardo are the people behind the sheep that made our first capsule of skeins by flock possible. And for us, this means a lot.

In this post, we want to introduce them briefly, because we would love for them to tell their story in their own words later on.

Los Pozos is a Patagonian estancia with a long sheep-farming tradition. A place where raising sheep is not only a productive activity, but also a way of life that continues through time, generations, learning, and a lot of everyday work.

We met Silvina and Eduardo at the Encuentro Ganadero in November 2025. We knew they had beautiful fleeces from colored sheep, known for their quality. But turning that fiber into skeins seemed almost impossible.

Today, this dream has come true.

This is one of the most beautiful projects we have worked on, although I have to admit that naming this line was not easy: much of our communication speaks of “rebaños,” but at that gathering in Esquel, we heard the technicians talk about “majadas”; and when Silvina shares a photo with us from the estancia, she speaks of a “piño de ovejas.”

And there, in some way, we can see part of the richness of this project.

Majada, rebaño, piño. Three ways of naming something that became very important to us: a flock of sheep with a shared story, thoughtful management, and its own identity from the very beginning.

When we talk about traceability, we also mean this: being able to look at a skein and know that it does not begin in the wool mill, but much earlier.

It begins with a family living on a Patagonian field with their sheep. With people who make decisions every day because they live on that land, know their animals, and work with care for animal welfare, the continuous improvement of their wool, and the care of the soil.

They also make us part of that world, by sharing moments from their everyday life through messages, photos, and small stories that arrive from the field.

This first capsule is born from that journey.

From a fiber with its own identity, which allows us to spin skeins with a closer, more precise, and more visible story. A fiber that keeps something of its origin and invites us to enjoy a unique knitting experience.

Because there will be many flocks. And each one will invite us to discover something special.

Thank you, Silvina, Eduardo, and family, for trusting HUANACO and making this beautiful project possible.

And now, let’s discover together the qualities of the skeins from Los Pozos flock!
