Back at Sevilla Teje

After taking part in the previous edition, coming back had the magic of a reunion. It meant reconnecting with a very warm community, with knitters we already knew, with many new ones, and with that special energy that happens when so many people come together around fibers, color, projects, and making things by hand.

Sevilla Teje has been held since 2022. Over the years, it has grown into a knitting festival with exhibitors, workshops, talks, activities, and spaces to share among knitters, designers, dyers, brands, and small businesses from the wool world.

A festival in a place with history

Since 2025, the festival has taken place at the Casino de la Exposición in Seville. The building feels grand and elegant, but at the same time warm and welcoming, very much in tune with what happens inside during those days.

The Casino de la Exposición was designed for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition in Seville. The project came under the direction of architect Vicente Traver y Tomás in 1926, and the building is known for its Neo-Baroque style, circular hall, and columned portico.

It is also in a beautiful setting, right next to Parque de María Luisa and very close to Plaza de España, in an area full of gardens and walking paths that makes the visit even more special.

Being part of this festival in such a special place also means sharing our yarns in a space with history, in a city that values beauty, craft, and gathering.

Designs that joined us

Two designs in Merino de la Patagonia Superfine joined us there: the Capita Sevilla by Lizzie Cairo (@ambientesencrochet) and the Renacer Kimono by Mariana Camusso (@mariana_camusso). These collaborations were such a joy throughout the whole process, and we loved seeing them on the festival runway.

These crochet pieces are now part of the rack we keep at the workshop and bring with us whenever we take part in an event. Little by little, we’re also bringing those designs from the rack to the blog. You can find them in the section From the Rack to the Blog.

A color to remember this edition

Every festival leaves us with something worth holding onto, so we like to remember each event and each edition with a special color: one inspired by the place, its atmosphere, the moments we shared, and everything that makes each experience unique.

Mates en el Parque was born as a way of bringing two landscapes together in one skein. On one side, there is our everyday, very Argentine ritual of drinking mate. On the other, there is Parque de María Luisa, the green setting that surrounds the Casino de la Exposición and became part of the festival experience itself.

The result was a yerba mate-dyed variegated colorway, developed especially for this chapter of HUANACO at Sevilla Teje.

We like to think of these colors as small pieces of memory. Not just as a palette, but as a way of holding onto an atmosphere, a walk, a conversation, a city, and a shared moment.

Thank you, Sevilla Teje!

Coming back to Sevilla Teje left us with exactly that: the joy of confirming that there are places where we feel at home, where stories of origin matter, and where a skein can also become a way of building bridges.

Thank you, Seville, for welcoming us once again with so much warmth.
