The Sevilla Capelet, by Lizzie (@ambientesencrochet), is one of those pieces that doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s a crochet design meant to be enjoyed—supported by step-by-step video tutorials that guide you round by round.
One design, many options
The garment starts with a circular center, and then transforms as you go: first into a triangle, and finally into a semi-circular shape that gives it that beautiful movement when you wear it.
Lizzie offers several ways to make it yours: you can add cuffs and wear it as a capelet, or leave them out and use it as a shawl. And if you choose the capelet version, you can wear it with the opening in the front, or turn it around—opening in the back—and transform it into a poncho.
And as if that weren’t enough, this design proves it works beautifully in different fibers. Lizzie herself presents it as a project you can adapt to any material.
On our rack, you’ll find it in two versions:
- Algodón de Frontera version: this fiber was the spark behind the design—and the starting point for this collaboration.
- Merino de la Patagonia Superfine Fingering version: the design invited us to keep exploring fibers and colors… and Lizzie wasn’t about to let that opportunity pass!
Sevilla Teje
Both versions traveled with us to Sevilla Teje, and stayed with us at the stand throughout the festival days.
The Merino de la Patagonia version in Natural was made by Maga (@maga.teje), a wonderful adventure companion. When we met at the wool mill and let our imagination run—between fibers, stitches, and runways—Maga didn’t hesitate to join the journey. And that’s how we got to see it walk the festival runway, worn by Deb (@deb.knits), a dear friend of the house.
